Ron Bermingham, Interim Director, MA, MM, PHD, is an accomplished vocalist with over 20 years on the operatic stage. Ron was the Assistant Chair and head of NOCCA's Musical Theatre Division and Director of Artistic Operations for three of Louisiana’s symphony orchestras.
Kathryn Weld, mezzo-soprano, has performed extensively throughout the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan. Ms. Weld has appeared with the New York Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony as well as Seattle Opera, the Regensburg Opera Theater in Germany, Opera Carolina and Tacoma Opera among others. Weld serves as an Affiliate Artist Voice Faculty at the University of Puget Sound and at Cornish College of the Arts. She is currently on the vocal faculty at Western Washington University.
Scott Miller, DMA, is Associate Professor of Vocal Music at Whitworth College in Spokane.
He has a Doctorate of Music Arts from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Miller specializes in vocal performance, foreign language diction for singers, vocal pedagogy
and vocal literature.
Roger Nelson,a member of the Cornish
Faculty since 1979, Roger Nelson performs
frequently as a pianist and conductor. He holds
a BA degree from Pomona College and an MM
in Choral Conducting from the State University
of New York at Stony Brook University.
Kevin Helppie maintains an active performing career, including recitals, oratorios, operas, and popular styles. Dr. Helppie is currently on faculty at Western Oregon University and has also taught at Austin Peay State University, Sam Houston State University and Skagit Valley College. Dr. Helppie holds the Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Washington University, the Master of Music degree from Indiana University, and the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the University of Washington.
Barbara Pickett is a member of the piano faculty at CWU. She is an active performer, teacher and adjudicator. A specialist in collaborative piano, she has performed throughout the country. Recent performances include "Letters from Mary Todd" by Oregon composer Jason Heald with soprano Donna Spicer at the College Music Society's Northwest Regional Composer Recital.
Luvada A Harrison, DM is an Associate Professor of Music and Chair of the Department of Fine Arts at
Stillman College. She received advanced training in opera with the Tri-Cities Opera Young Artist Program in Binghamton, New York, and the Verdiana Concorsa in Busetto, Italy. In addition to advanced training in Italian Art Song at the Barga institute in Barga, Italy, Harrison holds a Doctor of Music degree from Florida State University where she was a University Fellow.
Briar Hoper is a singer, actress and dancer. She owns Edelweiss Dance Acadamie in Leavenworth, Washington. Briar is the current president of Amberleaf Theatre and has been involved with Leavenworth Summer Theater both acting and choreographing numerous shows. She has also performed in several One Act Wonder opera performances and in the Confluence Vocal Octet.
Mary Groff Sanders is a jazz pianist, music teacher, arranger, and performer. She has worked as a professional accompanist throughout the state of Washington, as well as a jazz performance coach.
Ken Hunnicutt, graduated from the University of Southern California with a Masters in piano performance and accompanying. He performs regularly as an accompanist and chamber musician throughout North Central Washington. He is a member of the Washington State Music Teachers Association.
